About Alexandre Gama

Alexandre Gama was born in Rio de Janeiro on 1st June 1958 and is an advertising and businessman from Brazil. He is the chief executive officer of Neogama which is among the top advertising companies in Brazil.

Mr. Alexandre Gama was the first Brazilian international that was a leader of an international network of communication agency and the only Brazilian to be in the Global Creative Board. The Global Creative Board was a committee that involved six creative heads from the international Publicis Groupe Company.

 

About Neogama

This company was started in the year 1999 by an entrepreneur who was known all over Brazil because of his contribution to the advertisement industry. Started by Alexandre Gama, Neogama grew to be the first Advertisement agency in Brazil to win an award at Cannes Film Festival.

In the year 2002, Alexandre Gama got into association with Bartle Bogle Hegarty which is a leading advertisement company in London. Neogama owned the majority of shares in the business and went on to be awarded as the Agency of the Year as it now came to be known as Neogama/ BBH.

Neogama however in 2003, became the first company to scoop two Golden Lions in Cannes during the same year.

In the year 2006, Alexandra Gama was selected as the Director of the Agency of the Year by the Association of Professionals of Propaganda. The following year he got the Cabore Award that awarded him as the Manager/ Entrepreneur of the Communication Industry of the Year. He created an award-winning campaign for Johnnie Walker known as Sleeping Giant in an award carried out by Diageo.

     Alexandre Gama has been one of the biggest names in advertising since 1982, when he entered the advertising realm of Brazil. He earned a formal education in advertising and communication at the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation.

After graduating in 1982, Mr. Gama was hired by Standard Ogilvy & Mather, working as a writer and content originator. In 1990, DM9 brought Alexandre Gama in, where he would stay until 1994. In 1996, Young & Rubicam brought Alexandre Gama in as their CEO and CCO. During that time, he also worked for Almap BBDO as a creative executive director. After 1999 rolled around, he formed Neogama, the eponymous advertising agency that quickly rose to be one of the most easily recognized in Brazil.

In the first three years Neogama was being operated, it was named the fastest growing organization of its kind in the entirety of Brazil. In 2006, Alexandre Gama was named one of the seven most important advertising professionals in Brazil by a board of his peers. That same year, he was also named Agency Director of the Year.
